GPUBank vs Akamai Cloud (Linode)
Akamai Cloud, the former Linode, sells GPU virtual machines with three professional NVIDIA cards: RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell, RTX 4000 Ada and Quadro RTX 6000. It sells no H100, H200, B200 or A100. Its entry plan is an RTX 4000 Ada VM at $0.52 per hour, billed in started hours, and its RTX PRO 6000 lists at $3.00 per GPU-hour after an access request. GPUBank rents the same RTX PRO 6000 at $1.15, and data-center GPUs from $1.85 for an H100 SXM, billed per second.

The verdict
Many regions and managed Kubernetes at Akamai. Data-center GPUs and per-second billing at GPUBank.
Akamai fits teams already on Linode that want small inference or video GPUs near their other services, in 22 GPU regions across 11 countries, with LKE and free 24/7 phone support. It does not sell the training GPUs GPUBank rents, such as the H100, H200, B200, A100 or MI300X. Akamai bills per started hour, bills a powered-off Linode in full, and meters egress at $0.005 per GB on its current GPU plans. New accounts may need a $100 deposit before deploying GPUs; GPUBank starts from a 25 USD crypto top-up.

07Their site, our site
What you see before you pay.
Both sites as a visitor sees them, without an account: the Akamai Cloud (Linode) pricing page as the Wayback Machine archived it on 19 September 2026, and GPUBank's live board. Cookie banners and chat bubbles are closed; nothing else is edited.

- 1linode.com/pricing redirects to akamai.com/cloud/pricing, where GPU plans sit on each region's price list rather than on one page.
- 2Prices are machine-readable without an account in the public Linode API, but RTX PRO 6000 plans are not in that list.
- 3Prices are quoted per VM per hour, not per GPU, and the GPU docs page sends readers to the pricing page.

- 1Live stock per region and every price, without an account.
- 2Per-hour and per-second prices, with vCPU, RAM, NVMe, IPv4 and traffic in them.
- 3A machine-readable price feed at /prices.json.

- Per-second billing instead of started hours
- Stop an instance and pay only for its disk
- All traffic included; Akamai meters egress at $0.005 per GB
- Crypto top-ups from 25 USD; no $100 GPU deposit
Moving from Akamai Cloud (Linode) takes an afternoon.
Akamai lets you capture custom images, copy disks over SSH and download backups, but outbound traffic on current GPU plans costs $0.005 per GB. A powered-off Linode keeps billing, so delete it once the data is moved.
- 1Launch the GPU you need on GPUBank with a persistent disk in the nearest region.
- 2Copy data from the Linode or its Block Storage volume with rsync over SSH.
- 3Run your Docker image or a matching template, then delete the Linode to stop billing.
