GPUBank vs Paperspace
Paperspace is a GPU virtual machine and ML notebook platform that is now part of DigitalOcean, with three datacenters: NY2 and CA1 in the US, and AMS1 in Amsterdam. Its H100 SXM costs $5.95 per GPU-hour on demand, after an approval request, and $2.24 on a 3-year commitment; GPUBank charges $1.85 with no commitment. Paperspace takes cards and bundles free Notebook GPUs in monthly plans; GPUBank bills by the second, includes IPv4 and sells current GPUs such as the H200, L40S and RTX 5090.

The verdict
Notebooks, card billing and free egress at Paperspace. A third of the H100 price and per-second billing at GPUBank.
Paperspace suits Gradient users running notebooks on older or mid-range NVIDIA cards, and buyers who want card billing under DigitalOcean. For the two GPUs both of us rent, GPUBank costs 69 to 70 % less per GPU-hour on demand, and its H100 needs no approval queue. Paperspace bills by the hour according to its docs and keeps billing disk and public IP on a stopped machine; GPUBank bills by the second and includes IPv4. Both include all traffic.

What you see before you pay.
Both sites as a visitor sees them, without an account: the Paperspace pricing page captured on 29 September 2026, and GPUBank's live board. Cookie banners and chat bubbles are closed; nothing else is edited.

- 1The pricing page opens on the Gradient plans tab; GPU hourly prices sit in a separate Compute tab.
- 2The H100 card shows $2.24 for a 3-year commitment, and a footnote calls $5.95 on demand a special promo price.
- 3Every page carries a Paperspace is now part of DigitalOcean banner, and the full price table is in DigitalOcean docs.

- 1Live stock per region and every price, without an account.
- 2Per-hour and per-second prices, with vCPU, RAM, NVMe, IPv4 and traffic in them.

09The right fit
Different needs. A clear choice.
What Paperspace does better
- Free Notebook GPUs in Gradient plans at $8 or $39 per month
- 3-year H100 term at $2.24 per GPU-hour, published
- Pay by card via Stripe, with custom invoicing on business plans
- Private networks, IPSec VPN and shared drives up to 80 TB
- Free ticket support seven days a week, no balance required
Choose GPUBank if
- H100 SXM at $1.85 per GPU-hour, against $5.95 on demand
- A100 SXM 80GB at $0.95, against $3.18
- Per-second billing, where Paperspace docs state per hour
- No approval queue for H100, and no card needed
- H200, B200, L40S, RTX 5090, RTX 4090 and MI300X, which Paperspace lacks
Moving from Paperspace takes an afternoon.
Paperspace Machines are standard Linux VMs and egress is free, so copying data out costs nothing on its side. Snapshots and custom templates are region-bound and no image export is documented.
- 1Launch the same GPU on GPUBank with a persistent disk in the region you need.
- 2Copy your data over SSH with rsync, from the machine or a shared drive.
- 3Rebuild the environment as a Docker image or pick the matching template, then destroy Paperspace machines and disks.
# 1. a GPU and a disk on GPUBank gpubank launch --gpu h100-sxm --region eu-paris --disk data # 2. copy your data from the old machine rsync -azP old-host:/workspace/ root@<new-ip>:/workspace/ # 3. run the same image or template ssh root@<new-ip> 'cd /workspace && ./start.sh'
A few things you might be wondering.
Yes. Paperspace lists the H100 at $5.95 per GPU-hour on demand and $2.24 on a 3-year commitment. GPUBank charges $1.85 per GPU-hour for an H100 SXM with no commitment, with vCPU, RAM, NVMe, IPv4 and traffic included. A 40-hour fine-tune costs $238.00 on Paperspace and $74.00 on GPUBank.
Yes. Every Paperspace page states that Paperspace is now part of DigitalOcean, and its docs have moved to docs.digitalocean.com. DigitalOcean support plans and SLAs do not cover Paperspace.
Its homepage says per-second billing, but the pricing docs state that all resources are billed per hour. A powered-off machine stops compute billing, while disk and public IP keep billing. GPUBank bills per second and a stopped instance costs only its disk, at $0.03 per GB-month.
Paperspace does not publish crypto payment. Its pricing FAQ lists Stripe card payments, and business plans can get custom invoicing. GPUBank is paid from a USD balance topped up in Bitcoin, USDT, Ethereum and more than a dozen other coins.
Not always. H100 and other high-end types need an approval request of 1-2 business days, capacity permitting, and run only in the NY2 datacenter. GPUBank rents the H100 SXM without approval in Paris, Frankfurt, Ashburn and Singapore.
Without. Every price on this page excludes VAT and sales tax, for Paperspace and for GPUBank, so the two columns compare like for like. Tax is added at checkout according to where the buyer is based.
