GPUBank vs Crusoe

Crusoe is an AI infrastructure company founded in 2018 that builds its own data centers and power supply and rents NVIDIA and AMD GPU VMs through Crusoe Cloud. Its H100 SXM costs $3.90 per GPU-hour, sold only as 8-GPU nodes; GPUBank charges $1.85 and rents a single H100. Crusoe offers InfiniBand nodes, managed Kubernetes and SOC 2 and ISO reports; GPUBank costs less on every shared GPU and takes crypto.

The verdict

InfiniBand nodes and certifications at Crusoe. Lower prices and single-GPU rentals at GPUBank.

Crusoe is built for training teams that run 8-GPU InfiniBand nodes and sign reserved capacity contracts, with SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 reports. For the five GPUs both of us list, GPUBank costs 42 to 63 % less per GPU-hour. Both bill by the second, include egress and stop compute billing on a stopped VM; Crusoe keeps billing the 128 GB OS disk at $0.08 per GiB-month. Crusoe requires a non-prepaid credit card; GPUBank takes crypto and asks for no card.

09The right fit

Different needs. A clear choice.

What Crusoe does better

  • 3,200 Gb/s InfiniBand on 8-GPU H100, H200, B200 and MI300X nodes
  • GB200 NVL72, B200 and MI355X listed, on contact-sales pricing
  • SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 and ISO 42001 on its Trust Center
  • Managed Kubernetes, Managed Slurm and token-priced serverless inference
  • Enterprise support with 1 h P1 response for qualifying commitments

Choose GPUBank if

  • H100 SXM at $1.85 per GPU-hour, against $3.90 at Crusoe
  • Rent 1 H100, H200 or A100 SXM; Crusoe sells them as 8-GPU nodes
  • Self-serve interruptible at -40 %; Crusoe spot is sales-only
  • Pay in Bitcoin, USDT and 12+ other coins, no card
  • RTX 4090, RTX 5090 and RTX PRO 6000, which Crusoe does not list

Moving from Crusoe takes an afternoon.

Crusoe charges no egress fee, so copying data out costs nothing on its side. Local NVMe is erased on stop, so move data to a persistent disk first.

  1. 1Launch the same GPU on GPUBank with a persistent disk in the region you need.
  2. 2Copy persistent disks with rsync, or pull from Crusoe's S3-compatible object storage with rclone.
  3. 3Rebuild your VM image as a Docker image or pick the matching template, then delete the Crusoe VMs and disks.
Start on GPUBank
bash
# 1. a GPU and a disk on GPUBank
gpubank launch --gpu h100-sxm --region eu-paris --disk data

# 2. copy your data from the old machine
rsync -azP old-host:/workspace/ root@<new-ip>:/workspace/

# 3. run the same image or template
ssh root@<new-ip> 'cd /workspace && ./start.sh'

A few things you might be wondering.

Yes. Crusoe lists the H100 SXM at $3.90 per GPU-hour on an 8-GPU instance. GPUBank charges $1.85 per GPU-hour, with vCPU, RAM, NVMe, IPv4 and traffic included, and rents a single GPU.

Not on the published instance types. Crusoe sells the H100, H200, A100 SXM and MI300X as 8-GPU instances; single-GPU sizes exist for the L40S and A100 PCIe. GPUBank rents from 1 to 8 GPUs per instance.

Crusoe does not document crypto, PayPal or wire payments. Billing must be enabled with a valid, non-prepaid credit card before you can provision. GPUBank is paid from a USD balance topped up in Bitcoin, USDT, Ethereum and more than a dozen other coins.

Crusoe. It runs 8-GPU nodes on 3,200 Gb/s InfiniBand, 6,400 Gb/s on B300, with Managed Kubernetes and Managed Slurm. GPUBank rents up to 8 GPUs per instance and does not sell InfiniBand clusters.

Crusoe has two European regions, in Iceland and Norway, plus five in the United States. It lists no Asia region. GPUBank has Paris and Frankfurt in Europe, plus Ashburn and Singapore.

Without. Every price on this page excludes VAT and sales tax, for Crusoe and for GPUBank, so the two columns compare like for like. Tax is added at checkout according to where the buyer is based.
